Wicomico County Looking For Land For New Transfer Station
The Wicomico County Department of Public Works is looking for property owners who may be interested in selling land to the county for a new transfer station.
The Public Works Department is looking for a 15-acre piece of property west of Route 13 in Fruitland, and between the Wicomico River and the Somerset County line. The property should have electric service available and be within 500 feet of a public road. The property should be mostly cleared of trees, have little to no tidal wetlands, and no major environmental issues.
Anyone who has questions or is interested in selling property is asked to call county civil engineer Jim Grindle at (410) 548-4935. The deadline is December 31.
