PSC Approves Use of 511 in DE

The Public Service Commission Thursday approved the use of the telephone number 511 for a travel information network in Delaware.

The Travel advisory network is already active in the neighboring states of Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Motorists calling 511 can get information about traffic conditions, road construction and even accidents.

511 was established by the Federal Communication Commission in 2000 as the universal dialing code throughout the nation.
