A grassroots movement to push Ocean City officials to revisit the rotating surfing beach plan is getting heard by the city council. Councilwoman Mary Knight tells the council this was an issue that was brought up during the recent municipal election…
The petition is a push to expand the surfing beaches to give the surfers more space. Rotating surfing beaches have been in effect in Ocean City since the 1970s, but at the height of the summer the beaches where the break is good – is too crowded to surf and other surfing beaches have no good waves.
