8 a.m.: Power has now been restored to an estimated 5,000 Delmarva Power customers in Wicomico, Worcester and Sussex Counties.
Delmarva Power Spokesman Matt Likovich says the outage was caused by a trip in a breaker at a sub-station in Berlin that was apparently low on gas around 4:45 this morning.
Areas affected by the outage included Salisbury, Ocean City, Ocean Pines, Berlin, Snow Hill and lots of other towns.
Likovich says all the power was restored by 7:30 a.m.
6 a.m.: Delmarva Power is reporting a fairly large power outage this morning.
An estimated 2,000 Delmarva Power customers in Wicomico, Worcester and Sussex Counties, including customers in Selbyville, Salisbury, Ocean City and Snow Hill are without power right now.
No word on what’s causing the outage, but crews are aware of the problem and are working to restore power as quickly as possible.
