AG Biden Urges Congress to Extend Key Tax-Relief Provision to help Homeowners Affected by Housing Crisis
Attorney General Beau Biden is among a group of state Attorneys General pushing Congress to extend a key tax-relief provision to help homeowners who are benefiting from the terms of a national mortgage settlement that was reached earlier this year. The settlement provides relief for homeowners who have been hit hard by the housing crisis – and has benefited hundreds of Delaware families. As of September 628 Delaware homeowners have received direct benefits from that settlement that total $35.2-million. There are another 225 First State homeowners who are in the pipeline to benefit from the settlement – as they’ve already been offered mortgage modifications and are in the decision process – or have accepted the terms and are in a trial period.
