Waterfowl Hunting Split Seasons Opens TODAY
DNREC’s Division of Fish and Wildlife is reminding waterfowlers that the next split season dates for hunting migratory ducks, Canada geese and white-fronted geese, are today through Thursday, Nov. 29.
There is a daily limit of six ducks; the possession limit is two times the daily limit.
ForCanada geese and brant, each has a daily bag limit of two, with a possession limit of four birds.
The season on harlequin ducks remains closed.
Other current or upcoming waterfowl seasons are:
- Third split for duck, Canada goose and white-fronted goose: Thursday, Dec. 13 – Saturday, Jan. 26; daily bag limit two; possession limit four. Hunters may take a total of two geese of either species for the daily limit and four geese of either species for the possession limit.
- Brant: Saturday, Dec. 1 – Saturday, Jan. 26; daily bag limit two; possession limit four
- Snow geese: Monday, Oct. 1 – Saturday, Jan. 26; daily bag limit 25, no possession limit; including Ross’ geese. Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge open Monday, Wednesday and Friday with permission of refuge manager.
