Delaware State Police today are investigating an attempted robbery at a New Castle clothing store Thursday night.
Police say the incident happened around 8 p.m. at the Rainbow clothing store, when the suspect asked a 21-year-old employee at the customer service desk for a shopping bag. After the employee gave the suspect a bag, he told her that she was being robbed, and demanded that she turn over the money from the cash register. Stunned, the employee did not react. The suspect repeated his demand, and again the employee did nothing. The suspect then stated that he was kidding and fled the store on foot.
