UPDATED – 11-15-12 – 5PM - It was scheduled to be an active shooter exercise today at Dover Air Force Base, but as the exercise unfolded – an unrelated series of events led to the suspicion of possibly the real thing taking place. At 10:45 this morning the base was put on lockdown while an investigation was made – and determined that the initial reports were untrue – and stopped when the base was locked down.
If you are at or near Dover Air Force Base there will be a lot of activity on base Thursday. There will be a base-wide active shooter major accident response exercise today which will go on at Dover Air Force Base which will include all base personnel taking part – and base visitors could also be treated as participants during the exercise. Expect delays of customer service and possible gate closures – explosions, smoke and injured role-players could also be seen. If you have questions about the exercise – call the Dover Air Force Base Public Affairs Office at 302-677-3372.
