2.0 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes NJ Towns Dealing with Devastating Effects of Superstorm Sandy

The National Earthquake Information Center says the 2.0 magnitude earthquake was centered in Ringwood, 27 miles from NYC and struck at 1:19 a.m. Monday.

Ringwood Police say there are no reports of damage from the quake although it’s heard too tell since many residents of the small town are still without power and are dealing with downed trees since Sandy blew through one week ago.

The earthquake was three miles below ground and could also be felt in Mahwah, Wanaque, Oakland, Franklin Lakes, West Milford and Paterson.
