Mailman, Woman Injured In Dog Attacks In Stanton

Delaware State Police and the Kent County SPCA are investigating attacks by two dogs in Stanton Friday afternoon.

State Police say around 4:15 p.m., a trooper responded to the area of Argonne Avenue and Main Street for reports of two dogs who were attacking a mailman and people who tried to help him. When the trooper arrived, the two dogs were attacking a smaller dog that was being walked by its owner. The trooper shot one of the dogs to stop the attack.

The mailman was treated for dog bites at Christiana Hospital. The woman who owns the smaller dog that was attacked refused treatment for a bite she received.

The dogs that did the attacking are now in the custody of the Kent County SPCA.
