Deadline Passes for OC Mayor & Council Election
Residents of Ocean City have about a month to decide between 10 candidates for city council.
Ocean City residents will elect a mayor and four council members next month.
The deadline for candidates for file was Tuesday.
Running for mayor are incumbent Rick Meehan, challenged by businessman Nick Campagnoli.
Candidates for City Council are former city manager Dennis Dare, Joe Mitrecic, Doug Cymek, Mary Knight, Bob Baker, John Franklin Adkins, Phillip Sayan, Sean Rox, Jim Hall and Joe Hall.
The city’s Fraternal Order of Police is against both Halls, saying they have been opposed to a benefits package for police. Signs in town say “No Halls, No Way.”
The election is Nov. 6.
