Delaware SPCA Executive Director Anne Cavanaugh has resigned.
Cavanaugh has accepted a position with a Philadelphia biotechnology company.
Cavanaugh says that since she joined the SPCA in 2008, the agency achieved many accomplishments including placing over 14,000 animals in new homes, a 90% decrease in euthanasia, and establishment of Delaware’s only high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter clinics.
The SPCA Board of Directors has appointed a committee which will begin the search for a new director by the end of this month. Cavanaugh will stay with the organization on a part-time basis until a new director is hired.
